Incubus -- The Roxy -- 9/9/97 LA CA

This show was the S.C.I.E.N.C.E. release party. I remember trying to get into the club with a huge tripod, and my camcorder. The guy at the door wasn't too keen on me. My friend Kyle went in, and I believe found Gavin, who came and not only escorted me past the door guy, but onto the stage. So Gavin, if you ever see this video, thank you.

After the show the band was celebrating at the bar on top of the club. My friend Kyle (check my last Incubus video) wasn't old enough to get in. So I went upstairs, stood in the line of people waiting to congratulate Brandon, and when it was my turn, told him Kyle's predicament. He dutifully abandoned his own party, celebrating the first ever major label Incubus release, to come stand outside of the Roxy, on Sunset, and shoot the shit.

It didn't take long before there was a group hanging around Brandon, and I'll never forget this, as we were all talking, this Pam Anderson (remember this was 1997) looking thing walked past us. The group was mostly dudes, so we did what dudes do, stopped talking, and started oogling. After she passed, Brandon looked around at each of us, and said simply "none of that was real." Cool kid.
