Stacking bales at an Amish farm and spreading hog manure with a hose!

Today I make an early morning run to put away some corn stalk bales at an Amish friend’s farm. Then, back at the big farm, our neighbor is custom applying our hog manure with a drag line hose system. I give a riveting presentation about soil nutrition and fertilizer. How do you know how much manure to spread per acre? How do you know what is in the manure?
