"The tarantella has a very special place in our repertoire. It is about the bite of the spider, which is cured by dancing to the music of the tarantella until the poison has disappeared from the body.
The tarantella allows an enormous amount of freedom. Basically, only the bass figure is fixed, and everything around it is improvised, ornamented. Not even the vocal melody is completely notated."

"Die Tarantella nimmt bei uns im Repertoire eine absolute Sonderstellung ein. Es geht um den Tarantel-Biss, der kuriert wird, indem man zur Musik der Tarantella tanzt, solange, bis sich das Gift aus dem Körper verflüchtigt hat.
Die Tarantella erlaubt eine ganze Menge Freiheiten. Im Grunde genommen ist nur das Bassgerüst vorgegeben, drum herum wird improvisiert, verziert; noch nicht einmal die Gesangsmelodie ist komplett notiert."
