THE PROCESS OF FERTILIZATION in GIRLS | 10 Million views

Fertilization in girls is the fundamental biological process where a sperm (male reproductive cell) fuses with an egg (female reproductive cell) to form a zygote. This marks the beginning of pregnancy.
This intricate process typically occurs inside the woman's body, specifically within the fallopian tubes.
Ovulation: Each month, a mature egg is released from a woman's ovary, an event known as ovulation.
Sperm Entry: During sexual intercourse, millions of sperm enter the woman's reproductive tract.
Meeting in Fallopian Tube: These sperm swim through the cervix and uterus to reach the fallopian tubes. If ovulation has occurred, an egg will be awaiting the sperm in the fallopian tube.
Fertilization: Only one sperm is able to penetrate the outer layer of the egg. Once a sperm enters, the egg's outer layer changes to prevent other sperm from entering. The nucleus of the sperm fuses with the nucleus of the egg, creating a new single cell called a zygote. This specific event is what we call fertilization.
Implantation: The fertilized egg (zygote) begins to travel down the fallopian tube towards the uterus, continuously dividing and developing. After about 5-10 days, it implants itself into the lining of the uterus, initiating pregnancy.
For fertilization to occur, both a viable egg and healthy, motile sperm are essential.
