2018/01 LECTURE: Metallic Additive Manufacturing
Royal Aeronautical Society Heathrow Branch January 2018 Lecture -
"Metallic Additive Manufacturing: the Current State and Where it Needs to Go"
by Stuart Jackson, Business Development Manager - AMPD, Renishaw Plc.
ABSTRACT:
Additive Manufacturing, commonly known as 3D printing, offers unrivalled design freedom with the ability to manufacture parts from a wide range of materials.
The RAeS Heathrow Branch January 2018 lecture, the speaker from Renishaw Plc, one of the world's leading engineering and scientific technology companies, will provide audience a broad overview of where Metallic Additive Manufacturing is being used within the aerospace industry and what needs to happen for it to be more widely adopted.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Stuart Jackson joined Renishaw Plc in the summer of 2016 as Business Development Manager for Additive Manufacturing. Based out of the Headquarters in the UK, he is currently supporting the company’s North American subsidiary to grow their AM business.
Having completed a traditional 5 year engineering Apprenticeship, Stuart’s first industrial role was to introduce new CNC Machining technology into the previous company’s Aerospace division where they produced Safety critical parts for the Westland Sea King helicopter.
As a result of his background in CNC Machine tools, he was introduced into Rapid Prototyping back in 1994 by a Japanese CNC Machining Centre manufacturer.
In 2002 Stuart moved to work for EOS Electro Optical Systems GmbH of Munich where he ultimately became the Director for their UK Subsidiary.
