BLANCHE WIESEN COOK is just out with her third volume of her monumental biography of Eleanor Roosevelt covering from 1939 on the eve of World War II until her death in 1962. We talk with Blanche, a leading progressive activist in her own right since the 1950s, about the lessons in Eleanor Roosevelt’s life for our own perilous times.

Blanche Wiesen Cook is a distinguished professor of history at John Jay College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. She is a noted biographer of President Dwight Eisenhower. Her first two volumes on Eleanor Roosevelt were New York Times Best Sellers.
