Making a Desktop Folded Paper "Silent Night" Christmas Tree

I was asked by a relative in a nursing home to make a tiny Christmas tree that would fit on the window ledge of her room. The ledge is narrow, so a round tree would not be the best, and a flat tree shape would be better.

She likes all things musical, and used to have many decorative items with sheet music patterns, or simply the shapes of musical notes. She also loves the Christmas carol "Silent Night". So I resolved to try my hand at making a simple folded paper Christmas tree with a Silent Night music pattern.

I whipped this up in a couple of hours, using just materials and tools that I had on hand around my house. Luckily I have two wide format printers, so I can use 11"x17" paper; I used my Canon wide-format inkjet printer for this. I had 1/4" wooden dowel and some scrap plywood in my shop. I used my photo editing software and page layout (desktop publishing) software as well.

Everything is just pressure fit, with no adhesives except to glue the paper star to the cardboard.

The file has two pages: page 1 is the actual pattern, while page 2 has instructions and a photo of the finished project.
