For nearly 20 years, Brendan Kelly, Chris McCaughan and Neil Hennessy have been The Lawrence Arms–a power trio in the highest echelon of punk who have built a legacy on earnest four chord punk rock songs that celebrate both the scholar and the slacker in equal measure.

In this APTV exclusive, Kelly and McCaughan provide a guided tour of the band's history throughout their double-decade spanning career. Kelly explains the wealth of inspiration they took from The Goo Goo Dolls and how the band best known for "Iris" gave The Lawrence Arms a foundation for the structure of their sound. Kelly and McCaughan also describe their writing process and the parallels and natural tension of writing stories with two narrators and why the goal of The Lawrence Arms will always simply be to be The Lawrence Arms.
