'THC now is a major problem' | Loudoun County Sheriff warns of vaping, THC use in schools

Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman told 7News there is a growing problem with THC and vape use among teens.

“It's a growing issue,” said Chapman. “And it's a growing issue amongst the younger folks.”

On May 8, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspected student overdose at Broad Run High School. They treated the student. But it turned out to be a medical emergency related to vaping.

On May 3, the sheriff’s office said they responded to a suspected overdose at John Champe High School. And on Jan. 31, they responded to a suspected overdose at the Academies of Loudoun. Those two incidents turned out to be related to vaping and THC.
