Nurian Polyglot Language Lab - Korean Letters

Presented by Nurian Polyglot translation services
http://www.facebook.com/Nurikiri

In this video, our Nurian narrator tells you the name of every consonant and its pronunciation when it combines with the vowel "ㅡ /ɯ/". Vowels sound exactly like their names. Letters are sorted in alphabetical order to maximize the learning effectiveness for the people who speak it either as a mother tongue or as a foreign language.

Note that roman letters in grey colour phonetically do not match up with any Korean letter. However, when Koreans transliterate a foreign word beginning with the letter "V", for example, they substitute the letter "ㅂ /l/" for "V". Refer to the following chart:

Roman - Transliterated into Korean

F - ㅍ /p/
J - ㅈ /tɕ/
L - ㄹ /ɾ/
Q - ㅋ /kʰ/
R - ㄹ /ɾ/
V - ㅂ /l/
Z - ㅈ /tɕ/

How did you like it? Please do not hesitate to leave your thought or feeling about Korean language and our video lesson below!
