Furry Lewis - Furry Lewis' Careless Love

This is Walter "Furry" Lewis (1893– 1981) with his "Furry Lewis' Careless Love" from "The George Mitchell Collection" disc 6. This isn't your traditional "Careless Love". Lewis was well known as an impressive bottleneck guitarist with an expressive set of sliding notes. In the early 70's he toured with Leon Russell, and in 1973 he was named an Honorary Colonel of the State of Tennessee. This honor was bestowed upon such legendary performers as Duke Ellington and Elvis Presley.
