The Real Reason I Saw Lumber
The real reason I saw lumber is my focus in today's episode of Sawing with Sandy. There's many people who do what I do and spend their free-time making lumber out of trees with a portable sawmill. Some say it's not worth it, some say it's not saving money, some just don't understand. Today I'll help shed some light on the real reason I like to get out and make sawdust and the reason may surprise you. I can tell you one thing, there certainly is a good chunk of work involved in getting a single piece of lumber from a standing tree. But, with all the work aside, the reward is certainly worth the effort to me and for that, I'll continue doing what I do. If you've ever contemplated buying a sawmill or wondered why I choose to put myself through the mechanical breakdowns, maintenance and manual labour woes, you'll find out why today. Grab your sludge and fill up your lubrication tanks as we've got some lumber being made today. Don't expect warm weather and sunny skies though as the logs are froze and the days are short here this time of year. Glad you're all here and let's go!
