Pulseman playthrough ~Longplay~

This is a playthrough of Pulseman for the SEGA Mega Drive.

Doc Waruyama achieved the impossible and fathered a child with his waifu, resulting in the half-human, half-AI Pulseman. Living in the digital world led Waruyama to insanity and he turned evil, forming the Galaxy Gang to cause havoc in the real world.

Originally available exclusively in Japan (until the eventual Wii Virtual Console release in 2009), Pulseman was developed by GAME FREAK and had some staff who'd later go on to work on the Pokémon series including directors Satoshi Tajiri and Ken Sugimori, and composer Junichi Masuda.

Gameplay-wise it's fairly standard 2D platformer fare, with a few extra bells and whistles (like Pulseman's Volteccer attack) for flavour. My main point of contention is the visual design - some levels overplay the psychedelic art style to a point where it's overwhelming on the senses, and difficult to look at over an extended period of time.

That being said, it's still fun enough for what it is.
