Andrew Tift paints Lord Carrington’s portrait for the House of Lords Part 3/4
Andrew Tift was commissioned by the House of Lords Works of Art Committee to paint the Rt Hon the Lord Carrington in 2013/14.
Lord Carrington is currently the longest serving member of the House of Lords and the last peer to have held one of the four Great Offices of State. His portrait will join the Parliamentary Art Collection and be displayed in the House of Lords.
Andrew Tift’s portraits are highly detailed and intensely realistic, he often uses narrative objects and the environment to reflect and reinforce the sitters identity.
This film was commissioned by the Curator’s Office to give an insight in to Andrew Tift’s painting process and the relationship between sitter and artist.
