How do VLANs talk to each other? 🤔 Discover the secret behind inter-VLAN routing with this key Cisco concept! Essential for your CCNA! #NetworkingTips #Layer3Switch #NetworkEngineer #TechShorts #CiscoCert #ITExplained

Switched Virtual Interface (SVI): This is the correct term. An SVI is a logical Layer 3 interface on a Layer 3 switch associated with a specific VLAN. By configuring an IP address on an SVI (e.g., interface vlan 10, ip address 192.168.10.1 255.255.255.0), the Layer 3 switch can act as the default gateway for devices in that VLAN. Since it's a Layer 3 interface, it can then route traffic between different SVIs (different VLANs).

Access Port: A Layer 2 port on a switch that carries traffic for only one VLAN and connects to an end device (PC, printer).

Trunk Port: A Layer 2 port on a switch that carries traffic for multiple VLANs between switches or to a router.

EtherChannel: A technology that groups multiple physical Ethernet links into one logical link to increase bandwidth and provide redundancy.
