Emergency Services Minister Mark Ryan warned of the cyclone-like impact of the extreme weather event affecting the region and told residents to prepare for the worst.

There is no longer a threat of damaging wind gusts and widespread heavy rainfall, but local heavy falls in thunderstorms are possible tonight and into Tuesday.
