Ness of Brodgar Archaeological Dig: Neolithic Discoveries in Orkney 3,300 BC
Explore Orkney and surrounding Islands with Megalithomania in August 2021 - http://www.megalithomania.co.uk/orkneytour2021.html. Megalithomania's Hugh Newman is explored Orkney with American researcher Jj Ainsworth. The Ness of Brodgar excavation got underway, and we met up with lead archaeologist Nick Card and got a guided tour around the site from a local tour guide. Trench 'T' has some important new discoveries, such as huge recumbent monoliths, and a carved stone sphere was also unearthed a couple of years ago. This exclusive video includes an interview with Nick and a thorough look at the site, that sits between The Ring of Brodgar and the Stones of Stenness stone circles. No doubt more discoveries will be made.
