QFES says it’s ‘constantly refreshing crews’ while battling fires on east coast
Queensland Fire and Rescue Service’s Kent Barron says they are “constantly refreshing crews” as they continue to battle several fires on the east coast of the state.
An emergency warning was issued for various locations along Queensland’s coast and further inland as over 60 fires burn across the state.
“We’re constantly refreshing crews at the moment, fatigue management is of our highest priority,” Mr Barron said in a press conference on Saturday.
“That includes the local crews, we’ve had a long fire season already for some of these crews.
“We have crews who have put up their hand, our volunteers from across the state to come and give the local crews a hand.”
