1) Several people have pointed out that Sonoff outlets DO have a correcting wiring scheme. On a US two prong outlet, connect the Neutral Wire (the white wire/the wire coming from the wide blade of the plug) to the N terminal. Connect the Load wire (also called hot wire/black wire/the wire coming from the thinner blade of the plug) to the L terminal.
This wiring scheme will ensure that the load wire carrying the current is switched off. If you wire this the opposite way, everything will still function correctly, but the internal components of your circuit will remain energized. This can allow current to flow if you accidentally touch an exposed circuit component.
To be safe, always unplug a device you are working on. I wouldn't recommend relying on a remotely controlled outlet to protect you from mains power.. switched load or not.. :P
2) It's FTDI not TFDI... smooth...

Yo,
Sonoff outlets might be on the best deals in Home Automation. These $5-10 dollar WIFI-controllable outlets can be controlled from anywhere via an Amazon Echo or eWeLink mobile app. Plus, Sonoff outlets are easily connected to your favorite home automation hub using MQTT.
Using the outlets is super easy. In this video, we'll talk about setting up the outlets on the free eWeLink app, how to load custom firmware and take your outlets next level with a HTTP web server and MQTT.
If you're looking for a super cheap and reliable smart outlet, this is what you have been looking for. Don’t believe me? Just check this out.
Cheers,
Ben
