-----------------------------------------------------------
Whether you just received a multiple sclerosis diagnosis or have been previously diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, on a multiple sclerosis drug treatment plan, treating multiple sclerosis through HSCT or through diet changes exercise is extremely important and should also be in your toolbox for dealing with your multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Live your life by design and NOT BY DIAGNOSIS.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Want better balance? This is the way…
It's time to boost your balance and reduce your chance of falling using a drill called:
VOR – Vestibulo-Ocular_Reflex + Leaning into a step.
This drill is super effective for:
- Improving balance
- Reduce ataxia
- Reducing back pain
- Increasing core strength
- Improving leg strength
You will be taking a step, leaning into that step and moving your head side to side whilst fixing your eyes / gaze on a fixed object. Make sure to keep your abs in, glutes slightly tight, and spine nice and tall to optimize results. This drill really targets deep into your vestibular system and brain.
Remember to GO SLOW and limit your range of motion to a comfortable movement. SMALL & SLOW = STRONG HERE.
Keys:
1. Relaxed BGB – abs in, butt slightly tight – shoulder blades pulled down
2. Tall Spine – make your spine as long and tall as you can
3. Apple Chin – pretend like you are holding an apple between your chin and chest
4. Breathing Timing – nice and slow, consistent breaths
Let’s get better balance Gymmers!
