Web Fundamentals For Hackers [Sinhala] | Basic Pentesting

This video is a beginner-friendly introduction to how the web works, explained in Sinhala, and designed as the foundation for an upcoming web penetration testing series. If you are new to web security or just starting to learn how websites function under the hood, this is the perfect starting point before diving into offensive techniques.

In this session, I cover the core concepts you need to understand before touching any web pentesting tool. This includes how websites actually work, what domains and DNS are, how DNS records function, and how you can register your own domain. I also explain web request types, subdomains, virtual hosts, reverse proxies, load balancers, and web application firewalls so you can understand the full picture of how a web application is structured and protected.

I also walk through how to host a website using a public IP, and how to use a Cloudflare Tunnel if you do not have a static IP. I also explain how WAFs protect web applications, how banks and enterprises host their web apps securely, and what a DMZ is and why it matters in real-world infrastructure.
