What is Vulvodynia, and How is the Pelvic Floor Involved?
Dr. Nicole Cozean of PelvicSanity physical therapy in Orange County, CA explains vulvodynia, which literally means 'pain in the vulva.' There are several different sub-types (provoked vs unprovoked, vestibulodynia). In total, vulvar pain affects between 10-16% of women and is often caused by pelvic floor dysfunction.
