Lancashire Youth Vocal Ensemble SEND - Summer 2015
A More Music film for Lancashire Music Hub. LYVE SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) is a choral project for young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. These students vocalise mainly without the use of words. LYVE SEND puts their voices at the centre of the music.
In 2014/5, Steve Lewis worked with students at The Loyne Specialist School, Ridgewood Community School, Tor View Community Specialist School and Beaumont College. In Summer 2015, two gatherings brought singers together for the first time. This film shows what happened. The work uses echoes, accompanied solos and loops to encourage students to develop their own voices and interact with each other.
Music leaders – Steve Lewis, Pete Moser, Anni Tracy.
Filming by Samson Wong and David Ashworth.
Editing by Ashley Murphy.
Thanks to students and staff at all the schools.
