Preparation Methods of Amines
Amines can be prepared by several methods:

1. Hofmann Bromamide Reaction
- *Reaction*: RCONH2 + Br2 + 4NaOH → RNH2 + Na2CO3 + 2NaBr + 2H2O
- *Process*: Amides react with bromine in alkaline medium to form amines with one carbon less.

2. Gabriel Phthalimide Synthesis
- Used for preparing primary amines.
- Phthalimide reacts with R-X (alkyl halide) followed by hydrolysis.

3. Reduction of Nitro Compounds
- *Reaction*: RNO2 + 6[H] → RNH2 + 2H2O
- *Reducing agents*: H2/Ni, Fe/HCl, Sn/HCl, etc.

4. Alkylation of Ammonia
- *Reaction*: RX + NH3 → RNH2 → R2NH → R3N
- *Process*: Ammonia reacts with alkyl halides to give a mixture of amines.

5. Reduction of Nitriles
- *Reaction*: RCN + 4[H]---------▶️⏩ RCH2NH2
- *Reducing agents*: LiAlH4, Na/alcohol, etc.
