Weed May Be the Answer to the War On Drugs

In 2020, Illinois legalized the sale of recreational marijuana with a social equity plan attached, which aimed to give those from communities targeted by the War on Drugs a better shot of benefiting from the new industry. Over a year later, none of these licenses have been given out and the state has been left with no majority-black owned dispensaries.
