Toyota HiLux EV review: Revo electric ute / pick-up concept previews future Ford Ranger PHEV rival

The Toyota HiLux EV is finally here! Well, sort of. Introducing the HiLux Revo concept, Toyota's warning shot to the emerging all-electric ute / pick-up segment. Yes, it's exactly what you think it is: a zero-emissions version of the current generation of Australia's best-selling model.
Out goes the HiLux's tried-and-true 2.8-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, replaced by an electric motor and a battery pack that's presumed to be small in size. Why's that the case? Well, Toyota hasn't confirmed its capacity, but it has revealed the Revo concept's driving range is about 200km, which is a far cry from what its internal-combustion siblings can achieve.
