🔴 How to Build a 3-Stage LED Chaser Circuit Using BC547 Transistors
In this video, we will design, build, and fully explain a simple yet elegant 3-stage LED chaser circuit using only discrete components.
No ICs, no microcontrollers, no Arduino — just pure transistor-based electronics.
This project is perfect for beginners, hobbyists, and anyone who wants to deeply understand how transistor switching and RC timing work in real circuits.
🔧 Circuit Explanation:
The circuit consists of three BC547 NPN transistors connected in a loop configuration.
Each transistor drives a group of LEDs and is coupled to the next stage through a timing capacitor.
When one transistor turns ON, it lights its LEDs and charges the capacitor connected to the next stage.
After a short delay, the next transistor turns ON while the previous one turns OFF, creating a smooth chasing LED effect.
The 10kΩ resistors provide proper base biasing.
The 560Ω resistors limit LED current to safe values.
The 100µF capacitors control the switching speed of the chaser.
By changing the capacitor values, you can make the LED chasing effect faster or slower.

• 560Ω Resistor × 3
• 10kΩ Resistor × 3
• LED × 9
• 100µF Electrolytic Capacitor × 3
• Connecting Wires (as required)
