Grills and Rice Style Mutton Chaap Barra 🤤🔥
Creamy, smoky & full of flavor – perfect for Eid!

Grills and Rice Style Mutton Chaap Barra
This delicious restaurant-style Grills and Rice Style Mutton Chaap Barra is perfect for Bakra Eid, special dinners, or when you’re craving something rich, creamy, and smoky. You can also make this recipe with chicken or beef.
Ingredients:
1 kg mutton chaap (chops)
100 g yogurt (not too sour)
2 tbsp garlic paste
2 tbsp green chilli paste or thecha
2 tbsp red chilli powder / seasoning
1 tsp chaat masala
Salt to taste
½ tsp aromat / chicken powder (optional)
3 tbsp tandoori masala
3 tbsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
1 tsp red food color (optional)
1 tbsp mustard oil
Fresh cream (as needed)
Butter (unsalted preferred)
Fresh coriander (chopped)
Green chilies (chopped)
Method:
Step 1: Clean the Mutton
Soak mutton chaap in water with vinegar and salt for 15–20 minutes, then discard the water.
Step 2: Marination
In a bowl, mix yogurt, garlic paste, green chilli paste or thecha , all spices, and mustard oil.
Coat the mutton well.
Marinate for:
Overnight (best)
Or at least 1 hour (4–5 hours recommended)
Step 3: Pressure Cook
Cook the mutton in a pressure cooker:
2 whistles + 10 minutes on low flame
Remove chops and keep the stock (don’t waste it).
Dry up excess Moisture
Step 4: Grill / Sear
Pan-fry or grill the chops until you get golden grill marks.
Put excess dried Moisture and Toss it well
Give Coal Dhungaar for 5 minutes (Totally Optional)
Step 5: Creamy Finish
Place in a tray and add:
Fresh cream (slightly thinned with milk)
Melted butter
Chaat masala
Coriander
Green chillies
Step 6: Final Heating
Oven: 180–200°C for 10 minutes
OR
Pan: Heat covered on low flame
Serving Suggestion
Serve hot with rice for that perfect Grills & Rice style experience or Just as it is
