Ariel Adams of aBlogtoWatch reviews the Seiko Astron GPS Solar 5X watch. The four references here all feature 42.8mm-wide, 15.6mm thick, precision-machined titanium cases. Inside is the Seiko caliber 5X53 quartz movement which use GPS signals in order to update the date and time easily across 39 different time zones, and offers two time zone readouts, an AM/PM indicator, a perpetual calendar system, and a battery charge level indicator. Sitting at the top of the collection lineup is the limited-edition (of 2,500 pieces) reference SSH073 Seiko Astron GPS Solar Kintaro Hattori 160th Anniversary, named after Seiko’s original founder. This version sports a special black and gold color palette along with a facet-cut ceramic bezel as well as a crocodile strap in addition to the titanium bracelet. Pricing for the Hattori Limited Edition is $3,900 USD, while the other Seiko Astron GPS Solar 5X watches range in price between $2,000-$2,700 USD.
