How to use Future Time Clauses : 3 Grammar Rules and 3 Types! Improve your English Grammar!

You are going to improve your English after you watch this video. By the time this video ends, you are going to learn about future time clauses. These two sentences are both excellent examples of future time clauses. In today’s English lesson you will learn how to use future time clauses to help talk about when actions are going to happen in the future. Before this lesson finishes, you will learn: what a clause is, the differences between independent (main clauses) and dependent clauses (time clauses), and how to use future time clauses correctly. To make great sentences with future time clauses you need to know 3 grammar rules for future time clauses and 3 types of time clauses that are used to talk about the future.

The 3 grammar rules you need to remember for future time clauses are:
1. Keep the main clause, for the future in will or be going to and the time clause in the simple present.
2. The time clause can come before at the very beginning of the sentence or the very end of the sentence. Either way it doesn’t change the meaning of the sentence.
3. If the time clause is at the beginning of the sentence, please put a comma after it before the main clause. If the time clause is at the end of the sentence you don’t need a comma.

In this English lesson the 3 types of time expressions used with future time clauses are:
1. ‘When’, ‘After', 'Not until', and ‘As soon as’ are time expressions that will go with your time clause to introduce the fact that the time clause is happening before the main clause. The time clause will occur first.
2. 'Before’, ‘Until’, and ‘By the time’ will help to introduce the fact that the action in the time clause will happen after and your main clause will be the action that happens first.
3. ‘While’ at the beginning of a time clause, it means that the two actions are happening at the same time. The time clause and the main clause will happen simultaneously.

By the end of today’s English lesson you will have learned the 3 grammar rules for future time clauses as well as 3 types of time clauses which will help you to communicate like a native English speaker and be more fluent in English. This lesson has everything you need to know about how to make sentences with future time clauses and is guaranteed to help you improve your English skills.
