The Barbera wine grape grows well in the Italian Wine region of Piemonte, particularly in Barbera d'Alba, Barbera d'Asti, and DOCg Nizza, a former subzone of Barbera d'Asti. The best Barbera wines can age for decades, yielding Italian wine almost as complex as any Nebbiolo from Barolo or Barbesco.
