We Visit Real De Catorce + Shop at Mexican Walmart! RV Mexico

Our RV Mexico Adventure starts with the magical ghost town of Real de Catorce, and even with the wind and cold it was worth the drive! We also did our American duty and shopped at a Mexican Walmart, which features even lower prices and a pretty nice bakery!

For our first day of exploring Mexico, we drove up into the mountains and down 11 miles of cobblestone roads to explore Real de Catorce. This old silver mining town is today designated a "Puebla Magicos" by the Mexican Government. Towns with this designation offer visitors a "magical" experience including natural beauty, culture, cuisine, historical relevance, etc. That's on top of the nickname for the town, "The Magical City." Let's see if we can find some magic! At it's peak, over 15,000 people lived in Real de Catorce, but today less than 1,300 full-time residents primarily service the tourism industry.
