Paul Martin: Engineers for Health
A public health seminar recorded on February 13, 2017 featuring Paul Martin, OCTA Active Transportation Coordinator.
The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Active Transportation Coordinator has a unique opportunity to work directly with engineering and planning staff at local cities, police officers, and community advocates to reduce injuries and fatalities to people walking and biking. Involvement by OCTA isn’t focused on engineering solutions, but other E’s (education, encouragement, evaluation, and enforcement) as well. An update will be provided about regional planning efforts, partnerships with community advocates and efforts to develop Public Safety Announcements that aren’t boring.
