Trumpeter DF-21 in box review

Not a new kit by any account ! more like a 2002 vintage ! but still an impressive kit none the less ! it was a little pricey in my LHS but I found a good alternative in an On Line Store called HobbyStuffDepot Based in Alberta Canada you should give them a try !

I find they have Chinese Prices on a lot of Common Brands like trumpeter, Bronco Models or Hobby Boss to name a few and tons of After Market items as well ! They are a good alternative to Lucky Model Hong Kong or Hobby Link Japan if you want your money to stay... in the country ?

The kit itself is made out of that Softer Styrene, Trumpeter was using in the early 2000 which can be problematic to many.... but with a little care and diligence anyone can make this Kit turn out into a Show piece !

there are 808 parts to this kit and it will keep you busy for quite some times with a Tractor that requires 16 pages to assemble and a Trailer that needs about 10 pages to complete ! quite a treat !

The DF-21 Missile system is a Anti Air-Craft Carrier missile... Made to be a deterrent to Air superiority and Beach Assaults !

It can either carry a Standard Warhead or a Nuclear Warhead which makes this Weapon system very adaptable to the Treat at hand !

The vehicle depicted here is from the 1999 Era ! and might have been superseded since ??? by a more current Transporter Erector Launcher platform or may be in use still ??

I will be painting it in a ACTIVE DUTY paint scheme and hopefully learn some new things about Cammo Painting using Silly Putty ! which should yield some nice Hard edge Cammo lines !

Its a long Review I know and I apologize for it ! but its a rather large kit.... quite a treat if you have been waiting a long time like I have before buying it !!! 11 years almost !

I have recorded the movie using a Sony Digital Handy-cam HDR-PJ10 in HD, with the aid of a Sony VCL-HGE08B Wide Lens, mounted on a "DIY" JIB Crane; I have not used any Background music during filming nor in post-production; All intros are from FlixPress.com for which I paid them for custom animations and those came with their own soundtracks.
