King and Queen Land in Maryland

The king and queen touched down in Maryland.

Two and a half centuries after the American colonies declared independence from Britain under King George III, his descendant King Charles III and Queen Camilla have arrived in the United States for a four-day state visit to celebrate the United States’ 250th anniversary.

The trip beginning Monday comes amid strained trans-Atlantic ties partly over disagreements between the U.K. government and President Donald Trump on issues including the Iran war.
