In 1901, divers discovered something impossible at the bottom of the ocean.

It was a 2,000-year-old device with dozens of bronze gears inside. Scientists spent over 100 years studying it and discovered it could:
- Predict solar and lunar eclipses
- Track planetary movements
- Calculate the Olympic Games schedule

This technology was 1,000 years ahead of anything else in the ancient world. Similar mechanical devices didn't appear again until the 1400s.

It's called the Antikythera Mechanism, and we still don't fully understand how ancient Greeks built it without modern tools.
