Hospice Care Week | Tom's story

It isn't only the elderly who need St Luke's - sadly, terminal illness strikes young people, too.

With this being Hospice Care Week (5 - 11 October 2020), we're proudly supporting Hospice UK's campaign to highlight the vital end life care hospices have given throughout the pandemic by sharing 30-year-old Tom's story as told by his wife, Jess.

Tom, from Tavistock, had a brain tumour and when his deteriorating condition meant he needed end of life care, it was devastating news for this young couple and their family. Then, along came COVID-19 and dealt them another cruel blow - watch our video to find out what it takes to ensure that even the pandemic is no barrier to us reaching those who need us at the very toughest of times.

Thank you for all your support for St Luke's throughout the pandemic. Encouraging words, kind gestures and generous donations from our big-hearted community have kept us going despite these turbulent times. They'll be needed more than ever to help our charity meet the huge challenge of providing our vital service for patients and their families in the months to come, too.

Your kindness counts.
