The Life and Chess of Boris Spassky

The 10th World Champion is often overlooked, particularly in the West, as the guy Fischer beat. But Spassky is far more than that. He was the most "universal" chess player of his generation, able to adapt his strategy and style against each opponent. In this 90 minute lecture, FM Warren Harper will show this style through 4 illustrative chess games. Lucas Anderson will cover his biography, showing how a boy of 5 escaped the Siege of Leningrad to become a World Champion hounded by the KGB.

This lecture was given at Center64 (www.center64.com) on September 17, 2014. This is part 6 of a 12 part lecture series. Next month we examine Bobby Fischer.
