KPIs: how to set up performance indicators?



Wherever your team members are based, whether in an office or remotely, motivation is a key topic that comes up time and again. Effective leaders are great motivators and it was great spending time again with Eugene Pradas who has decades of Telecommunications experience under his belt. Eugene has managed global teams for years and is very familiar with how to ensure the whole team pulls in the same direction to meet any company set goals and KPIs. Setting the right KPIs is critical. To keep the team moving forward in the right direction together towards meeting anything set, the KPIs have to be realistically attainable but with a little stretch. For sure businesses are not charities and there to make money at the end of the day but KPIs cannot just be something that is pushed from the top down. It’s important to discuss these within the team before they are set. KPIs should ideally not just be purely numbers driven as there are many non-financial targets which are important - such as customer satisfaction rates, bringing in a certain amount of leads for other perhaps more expert salespeople to close them. Explaining what is important to any business is critical, as is keeping the team members updated along the way. You don't want good people to look elsewhere so making sure they are comfortable in terms of having a good potential career path too really helps businesses!
