Hello guys! This is Luanna Luna from Intis Telecom, bringing to you another episode of our video blog ‘What’s Up?’ We're going to be talking to people from around the Messaging business (and beyond) and it’s a great pleasure to be joined right now by a real expert in the area of Business Messaging, James Williams. I know you have been in the industry for a long time and that you recently joined the Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF) as Director of Programmes. Luanna thank you very much and it;s great being your first ever guest on your new ‘What’s Up?’video blog! I did indeed recently join the Mobile Ecosystem Forum as Director of Programmes. We’re a not-for-profit industry trade body and have 130 members around the world. We’ve got a lot of Business Messaging members as well as many other players from across the ecosystem. Wow, that’s a nice place to be! Great. So tell me James, what do you do ? What do I do? Well I manage the Future of Messaging programme at MEF as well as several other things. Well that's great and okay, how did you get into the giant industry of mobile engagement and how was it in the beginning? I studied languages at school, Business and German at university and in the first year of my course had an industrial placement with the industrial conglomerate Siemens. I spent a year in Germany with them later during my course and started working for them immediately my studies came to an end.
