What Are The BEST Earphones That You Can Get At the Apple Store?

So Apple released the 3rd Generation of the AirPods. How does it stack up against the rest of Apple’s earphone lineup? We’ve been putting the AirPods 3 through the paces and have come to realize this: it’s pretty damn good. BUT is it worth getting? Considering it’s going to cost a bit more than the AirPods 2? And how about all the forgotten headphones from Beats? Should you consider those as well?

In this video, we break down all of Apple’s earphones in terms of sound quality, office use, home use and at the gym.

-Sound Quality-
The winner goes to the AirPods Pro, followed by the Beats Studio Buds because both products use ANC. Now the best non-ANC product is going to be the AirPods 3. The bud is longer in your ear offering better noise elimination. After that we’d go with the Beats flex because of the in-ear design.

The AirPods 2 and the Powerbeats round out the bottom of the sound quality ranking.

-At the Office-

For the office, the most important feature is device flexibility. Being able to move our headphones from desktop to tablet to phone is a must. With device flexibility, any earphone with Apple’s H1 chip is going to make switching devices incredibly easy. Honestly, being able to sync new earphones by opening the cap of the case is so awesome. Simple and it works.

The only product in this video that doesn’t have an H1 chip or the older W1 chip is the Studio Buds. you still have to manually connect to the headphones which makes it almost no different than every other pair of non-Apple headphones we’ve used.

Now after device flexibility the features that are necessary for office use is:

1. Noise cancellation
2. Battery life
3. Call Quality

With noise cancellation, you’re stuck with the AirPods Pro IF you’ve eliminated the Studio Buds from before. Now after that, the in-ear design of the Beats flex is going to offer the most non-ANC noise cancellation. The Apple AirPod’s 3 generation is going to be next.

For Battery life, most products with a charging case will offer 24 hours of listening with the exception of the new AirPods which have 30 hours. For the office life, we prefer the earbud/charge case combo as it allows you to basically listen and charge at the same time.

For call quality, the Pro takes the cake again, followed by the 3rd Generation AirPod’s. That mesh on the new buds actually works.

The 2nd Generation AirPod’s would come in next and all the Beat products sound like old pop when it comes to call quality. Flat and terrible. If we had to pick an old pop, it would be the Studio Buds.

-At Home-
For home use, there’s one feature that trumps everything else. Spatial Audio. It makes watching movies incredible. You will literally be blown away the first time you listen to a movie on an iPhone or iPad with spatial audio. That feature only exists on the AirPods Pro and 3rd Generation AirPods.

The second feature that’s important for home from our perspective is the ability to share your audio. Great for when you need to keep things quiet while allowing some else to watch what you’re watching OR to share a great song. There is only one pair of headphones that can’t do this in the video. The Studio Buds.

-At The Gym-
Basically any product with ear-hooks is going to be great for the gym. Our personal pick is going to be the Powerbeats Pro.

Now for the AirPods, I prefer the AirPods Pro BUT Val likes the AirPods 3 (in-ear vs. non).
