1. Various of painting "Girl with Scarf" and another painting
2. Various of painting "Nyma"
3. SOUNDBITE (Italian) Gabriele Simongini, curator:
"Visiting Han Yuchen's exhibition, one might get the impression that the painter represents a world far away from us, obviously in the geographical sense, but also in the way of life. In reality, everything that Han Yuchen paints is very close to us, in the sense that Han Yuchen starts from the observation that life in contemporary China, but also in the contemporary West, is a life based on unbridled consumerism and a degradation of human relationships. The obsession with money and profit, according to Han Yuchen, and not only according to the Chinese artist, has radically changed our lives. Consequently, Tibet is for him a place of the soul and above all a place that can serve as an example for a more balanced and spiritual life, in relationship with nature, that we should all follow."
4. Various of exhibition
5. Various of painting "The Faithful"
6. SOUNDBITE (Italian) Gabriele Simongini, curator:
"Surely there is a critical stance, a critical reflection by Han Yuchen on freedom, on the way of life in the contemporary world, which is also influenced by the sad event that led to his family being exiled to the countryside for so many years, and which limited Han Yuchen's possibility to study in state academies. So, surely (in his works) there is this kind of reaction, Tibet (for him) also represents this, it represents purity, the chance to breathe."
7. Various of painting "Ring toss"
8. Various of painting "In the boundless pastures"
9. Various of painting "The shepherdess"
10. SOUNDBITE (Italian) Gabriele Simongini, curator:
"Certainly, there is a deep identification between the form: a concrete, simple, crystalline painting, and the content: the spontaneous and spiritual life of the Tibetans. We could say that in Han Yuchen's painting, form and content identify and reinforce each other."
11. Close of portrait of elderly woman
12. Pan right of exhibition
13. Painting "Pasture"
14. Various of painting "On the Ranwu lake"
15. Various of painting "Brother and sister"
16. SOUNDBITE (Italian) Nicolina Bianchi, curator:
"Han Yuchen encountered Tibet at the age of 18, not because he went to Tibet, but because he experienced and observed it through the works of the great masters of oriental oil painting. He immediately fell in love with these atmospheres, these landscapes, these characters, and, after many years, when he grew up, he wanted to go to Tibet and live in absolute solitude and, through his painting, to rediscover the harsh landscapes that, however, speak of a nature of great splendor, clarity and, above all, purity because Tibet is also a land of great spirituality."
17. Various of painting "Maqu glory of the sun"
18. Various of exhibition
19. SOUNDBITE (Italian) Nicolina Bianchi, curator:
"We immerse ourselves in landscapes of snow, wind and cold, and see these characters wrapped up and yet this pride, this smile, like that of 'Nyima' (one of his paintings), so pure, so naive, but also so serene and giving us serenity. This is what master Han Yuchen perhaps wanted to encounter, that is the pride, serenity and spirituality of these characters despite all (the difficulties) in Tibet of splendor and purity, of great purity."
20. Various of exhibition
