"Everyone is worried about this. It is clear that initially they won't send anymore gas. But when the maintenance period is over then they should bring the flow back to 40 percent of full capacity. But what happens when they don't do that? That would mean that the problem with gas becomes really big. And then we have even less chance of making it through the winter."

"So, what you see here. This is solar sight protection for your balcony. And this is a set that generates green energy from, basically, the doorsteps of your balcony. As you can see there is quite a lot of sight protections on balconies that are pretty much dead and don't do anything for us. Or for our environment. And I definitely think we can generate more energy from such a balcony set and do good for the environment."

"I think since the war has started in Ukraine it has been a very big mission to make sure that I reduce reliance on the Russian gas and oil. Not just in Germany but in general in all countries. And I simply want independence, or energy independence for people and to make sure that we don't fund wars."

"The private households will be protected. And hospitals and so on. These are protected groups of gas users that will continue to get gas. Hit the hardest will be non-essential businesses, such as swimming pools and saunas. But when the industry also comes in o play then the question is, will gas powered power plants get gas? Will the industry get enough gas to produce steel? To melt metals? To produce chemical raw materials?"

"All the sources of gas that could be found have been found. It is really a market with little activity. It is not so easy because it is so reliant on the infrastructure, on the gas pipelines, on LNG (liquefied gas) terminals, on amounts that can be produced in the countries where it comes from, on terminals that liquefies the gas. These are all slow processes, and it takes time to build this infrastructure. You just can't do that very fast."
