Microsoft Flight Simulator - Sim Update 5 Benchmark | 4K Ultra Settings | RTX 3080 Ti + Ryzen 5 3600

Yesterday, we benchmarked the performance of Microsoft Flight Simulator prior to Sim Update 5. Performance was around an average of 30-35 frames per second with drops into the low teens at some points. Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y20sEvP6_ss

Today, we benchmark the performance in the exact same demanding scenario: at 4K and ultra settings, in a large airliner (the A330-300), above Manhattan. The results are nothing short of impressive. No longer does the frame rate drop into the low teens. The lowest drop is a brief venture into 28 FPS, but the sim now stays mostly between 50-55 FPS.

Asobo seem to have eliminated the CPU bottleneck, allowing the GPU to shine. This means that the RTX 3080 Ti can operate at near 100%, and thus, shouldering the load. This results in an overall smooth experience with high frame rates in the most demanding scenario this sim has to offer. They've also reduced both video and system RAM usage.
