Strategy, Market Conditions and Trading Frequency

My ideal markets are reasonably trending with normal continuation because that's what what I trade. There are many markets out there so one could look at commodities, equities and currency pairs; the opportunities are endless.

What are the market conditions that you consider ideal, and which ones are the most challenging, for the performance of your strategy? When developing a strategy, do you give a higher priority to building entry signals, exit signals or money management rules? I think money management and particularly the risk/reward ratio are very important. Do you favor any particular timeframe in your strategies? What is your average trade duration and trading frequency? Greed keeps you in a trade, pains is what takes you out. The money management is key. What should an inexperienced trader watch when choosing a time frame?
