Let’s dive in tonight’s Top 10 smartest plays from around the NBA. Starting off with the Atlanta Hawks. Look again closely, Capela and Galinari are going to set a double screen for Hunter to go outside, but instead Galo turns around for the 3pt line while Hunter cuts to the basket. This left the Knicks defense so confused that RJ and Topin bump into each other leaving Hunter with the easy points.
Let’s go through Top 10 slick plays from tonight's games that went under the radar. What up everybody my name is Stefen and disis Heatcheck lez getintoit.
Except for the Clippers apparently, the whole world knows by now that Nikola Jokic is a first class passer.
Reggie Jackson & Marcus Morris casually turned their backs on Nikola while trying to stay in front of their men. The Joker read the misunderstanding very well and drops this beautiful pass to the cutting Uncle Jeff for the easy dunk.
The New York Knicks fooled their opponents with this inbound play in the 4th quarter.
Robinson screens for Quickley to come to the corner 3. As Quickley cuts he already gets away from his defender so both Huerter and Capela go after him, leaving the lane wide open for this monster dunk by Mitchell Robinson.
Let’s now check out some individual but equally as impressive plays.
Jordan Poole impressed the audience on this super fast and sneaky play from downtown.
As he dives all alone inside Orlando’s defense, notice how 4 Magic players are engaged by Jordan, so he makes the pass to Green goes back around him, and at this point they already forgot who guarded him as Poole drains the open 3.
The entire arena thought that this was the final basket of the quarter but Bogi and Trae thought otherwise.
Check out the incredible full court fling pass by Bogdanovic finding Young in the end zone for the touchdown with this finish in mid air with 6 tenths of a second. Amazing.
Next, we got the great movement by Wesley Matthews and Steve Nash like awareness by Jevon Carter. Let me explain.
In transition, Matthews does the Klay Thompson relocation from one side to the opposite corner. At the same time, on the drive, Jevon sees Wesley’s defender so he goes straight into him before kicking it out, making a quasi screen for his shooter and that’s all he needs to hit this shot.
This next play will make a lot of older NBA fans happy. Check out this move.
Jordan Poole is on this list again, with this lightning quick move called the Smitty, since it was Steve Smith’s signature move back in the day.
You see the little hesitation and faking back, before taking off to the basket. This left Cole Anthony frozen, so the defense has to help, and right here with 2 guys on him, Poole threads the needle to the cutting Porter who lays it in.
And we continue on with Golden State with yet another quick play for an easy bucket.
Wiggins dumps it down to Draymond and goes to screen for Kuminga. You see that Wagner is ready for him but Kuminga fools everybody and cuts along the outside. Great find by Green and another layup.
The Bulls tricked Milwaukee last night with this…slow developing play for a Vucevic 3.
You see that Vuc sets a pick initially for Derozan to come out at the foul line. But instead Demar screens on Lopez so Nikola just casually pops back, the Bucks weren’t really expecting it so we got the 3 and it goes in.
And finally from the same game, but this time it’s the Bucks and this unorthodox shot, the quick trigger by Connaughton.
In transition this is a 2 man game with Giannis now rolling to the rim, and Carusso has to help so the pass doesn’t go there but instead to Carusso’s man- Conaughton.
With Alex sprinting back, Pat knows that he doesn’t have much time to load up, so watch him as he doesn’t even dip the ball, keeps it above his head and springs back for the shot and hits it. Impressive.
