MVP D.Rose REINCARNATED! This Is His SECRET!

Derrick Rose is still unstoppable even after so many injuries and surgeries, and even at age 32. Still being the hero in playoff games and making the crowd go crazy.
Let me break down exactly how he did it. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it.

Again, another Gibson-Rose 2 man game. Look at the space D-Rose has here to accelerate so by the time he gets to Capella, he hits him with the quick in and out, so the big man of course reacts to it, opening the lane for Derrick to finish with this beautiful up and under move.
Once the Knicks saw that Atlanta couldn't stop this pick and roll, they ran it again.
Right here, both defenders are indecisive, so first they switch, but then Bogdanovic tries to recover, and Rose just freezes him with the hesitation before driving to the rim for the 1 handed finish.
And he’s killing Atlanta with these 1 handers, but it’s actually something that he’s always had in his arsenal. If you ask him, the floaters are the only thing that are vintage about his game. A week ago Derrick put out this emotional long instagram post where he talked about people calling it vintage Rose performance, whenever he had a good game. Something that he strongly disagrees with. I encourage you to pause and read the whole thing as it’s really heartfelt but let me just quote him on a few things.
Rose says: There’s nothing vintage about my game but my floaters.
I don't dunk or jump high anymore. I’m not killing you with speed nor am I a one man fastbreak anymore.
I love chess so I would put it this way... I lost my Queen early in the game but I fought my way back to get one of my pawns down the board to get her back. If you know chess... that's a very hard process to achieve.
And all I can say is wow, this is one of the best quotes I’ve ever heard.
He’s of course alluding to losing his athleticism and elite explosiveness, so now he has to work extra hard just to stay competitive and develop other aspects of his game.
And since I’ve been following his workouts throughout the entire off season, I know exactly what he’s talking about.
Even at an advanced age, being the former MVP, and achieving all the accolades in his career, D-Rose still works super hard and keeps himself in peak condition. Even if nowadays that means stability work, stamina, endurance, and more band workouts rather than heavy weights.
He also has an interesting way of training when it comes to shooting as well.
I’ve mentioned this in another video but Derrick has this 4.5 pound or 2 kilo ball that he practices with to build and maintain the strength in his shot. So then when he switches to a regular basketball that weighs 1.4 pounds or 630 grams, it makes it seem light as a feather.
This green ball is so important to him, and he makes sure he is the one to bring it to practice and take it home with him. In an interview he said: If I didn’t have that ball, I wouldn’t be in the league right now.
So yeah, when you see him knocking down jumpshots, even threes like he did in game 2, just know that there’s a lot of work and preparation put into it behind the scenes.
Rose was one of the key players in making game 1 a close one, with his 17 points on 50% shooting, but as game 2 was starting to slip away as well, Thibodeau finally inserted him in the starting lineup in the second half in the place of Elfrid Payton- who has been giving them absolutely nothing I might add, and DRose saved the day, as well as this series with his 26 points.
Even though there’s so much more to say and analyze about this series I wanted to give Derrick his shine in this one and focus on him.
