The SECRET LOOK To Win The Game!

Down by 2 the Thunder draw up a play during the time out. But having one of the best passers in this rookie class in Josh Giddie, sometimes you don’t need all that.
As they line up on the court, you see that Doncic is bent down not really paying attention.
So Giddie notices that and look at the quick head nod signaling to Kenrich Williams to cut inside.
Williams does just that and Giddie throws a laser pass on the money, for the bucket that would force overtime and ultimately the win.
He talked about that in the postgame press conference.
POSTGAME PRESS
And honestly, with the way this dude can pass the ball, with his vision and decision making, he’s got every right to disregard the drawn up play.
From the same game last night, in transition, look at how he uses Dort who’s diving to the basket, looking at him and baiting the defense to collapse, just to then rifle a pass to the corner for the wide open Tre Mann. This is split second decision making and elite court vision.
But possibly the best pass of the night came in the third quarter. Check this out. As Giddie throws the ball we’ll stop it right here to see that this is through 1,2,3 Mavericks defenders all the way on the opposite side of the court.
And of course Tre Mann had a great game with 29 points when you see how open his three pointers were.
So while you take a look at some of these absolutely beautiful assists let me point out that although the attention has been focused on guys like Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley, Josh Giddey has won rookie of the month in the western conference in every single month so far.
Despite not being flashy, he does everything on the floor averaging 7.6 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game. And to prove that, Josh has had 12 double doubles so far this season which is the most among rookies.
And to go a step beyond, Giddey became the youngest player to ever record a triple double.
Which leads us to his age. Dude is 19 years old.
Having this type of basketball IQ and vision this young is outstanding. And on top of that, just look at that beautiful long hair. This guy has it all.
All jokes aside tho, this guy doesn’t have it all, as there is one big glaring weakness in his game and that is shooting.
41% from the field is pretty ok for a rookie, but Giddie gets to this number by being great at getting to the basket. When we take away his layups and dunks, you see that he’s only 33.1% on jump shots, being especially horrible from downtown with 25.7% and free throws shooting them at about the same percentage as a guy like Shaq.
But despite that I love what I see from him, and in my opinion at only 19 years old there’s a lot of time for his shot to improve and the sky's the limit both for him and this OKC roster filled with young and exciting talent.
I definitely don’t expect to see them at the bottom of the West, even tho if you ask the Thunder GM, he’s probably ok with them being at the bottom this year and getting yet another high draft pick.
Let me know in the comments what do you think about Josh Giddey and the future of this young team. That’s it for now, subscribe and talk to you in the next one. Peace out.
