Recycling junk into Art | Evans Ngure | Design is for Everyone Ep6
Evans Ngure has continued to dazzle us with his sculptures made out of recycled junk materials. In this Episode of Design is for everyone, he introduces us to his new venture : a Youtube channel where he teaches how to make simple, (and not so simple) art out of junk materials.
We learn how to make beautiful earrings from old coins, how to improve room ventilation with an old computer fan, making stools using beer bottles... And so much more cool DIY creations.
'When I was starting out as an artist I found it so hard even know where to buy materials. So I took it upon myself to share these ideas to other artists who might be starting out so that they can get to know where to get the materials and how to use these materials.’
Ngure's latest exhibition at Alliance Français titled 'Wheels of Life' showcased an array of sculptures made out of brass wheels, wires, wine corks, kettles, side mirror casing, belts, and other found objects.
Please subscribe to his YT channel (Evans Ngure Art , https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6vAry8jNcuSouoqa5obQMQ) to learn new ways of spending your quarantined days productively and creatively.
Not only will we be creating functional and aesthetic art from his tutorials, but we will also be contributing to environmental conservation.
