France’s €5.1BN Canal to Unite with Germany
France is constructing a 107 kilometer long canal to Germany, that will unite the Rhine river and the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp in the Netherlands and Belgium, with the Seine river and Paris in France. It will feature 6 locks and a 1.3 kilometer long canal bridge, boosting barge traffic and positively impacting the environment, but with a cost of 5 billion euros.
